Coach Nelson is starting her fifth year as the leader of the Flower Mound Girls Basketball program. The previous four seasons she led the Lady Jaguars to back-to-back Bi-District Championships with a record of 75-60.
Prior to becoming the head coach at Flower Mound, Nelson was the Varsity Assistant at Flower Mound for 7 years. During that time, she helped lead the Lady Jags to their first Regional Semi-Finalist finish (2004) and their first District title (2005.)
Nelson was a highly touted player for Aubrey High School and later for Marcus High School (95). While at Marcus, she lettered in basketball, tennis, and softball and was selected 1st team All- District, Newcomer of the Year, Best Offensive Player, Area MVP, and 1st Team All- State. Nelson finished her high school career with 1,704 career points and 1,031 assists.
She went on to excel at the University of Texas at San Antonio where she holds the record for the most 3-pointers made in a half (6) and led her team in 3-point attempts, 3-pointers made, and 3-point percentage. Nelson also led her team in steals, assists, points scored and a number of other career and single season records.
She finished her playing career at the University of North Texas and completed her degree in Kinesiology and Health. She enjoys collecting sports memorabilia, playing golf, and traveling. Coach Nelson resides in Flower Mound with her two dogs, Dirk and Nash.
Coach Dawkins is starting her fifth year at Flower Mound High School coaching basketball. She is the Varsity Assistant and currently coaches the JV Silver team.
She is an alumnus of Marcus High School where she lettered in volleyball, basketball, and track. She was a varsity runner all four years of high school and medaled at the regional track meet her senior year. She also played basketball on the varsity level for 2 years.
By the end of her high school career, Coach Dawkins was awarded “Who’s Who Among High School Students” and “Who’s Who Among High School Athletes” two years in a row. After she graduated from MHS in 2001, she went on to become a student assistant for the Lady Indians basketball team at Midwestern State University.
Coach Dawkins graduated from MSU in 2005 with a major in Kinesiology and Education, and a minor in English. From there she went on to work at Hirshi High School in Wichita Falls as a paraprofessional and a basketball assistant.
In the spring of 2007, Coach “D” decided that it was time to come home. Since then, she has been a proud Lady Jag while teaching Sophomore English and coaching Basketball and Freshmen Volleyball.

Coach Bell is starting her fourth year here at Flower Mound High School, her second coaching the JV Team after two years coaching the Freshmen A basketball team.
She is an alumni of Keller High School where she lettered in basketball her junior and senior years. In her senior basketball season, she received the honor of “Lady Indian MVP”, while leading the area in assists.
After finishing her high school education in the top ten percent of her graduating class, Coach Bell attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock where she majored in Multidisciplinary Science, specializing in Chemistry. She minored in Education, and completed her coursework with a cumulative GPA of 3.9.
In her free time, Coach Bell plays indoor soccer, supports her Red Raiders, and occasionally runs.
This is Coach Johnson's second year as a basketball coach for Flower Mound High School. She graduated from Keller High School in 2004 where she lettered in basketball and softball. In 2003 they won the 5A Softball State Championship where she was named 1st Team All State shortstop.
She went on to play softball at Oklahoma State University then transferred to Texas Woman’s University where she finished her collegiate career.
During the summer of 2008 she continued her softball career by playing semi-professional softball in Vienna, Austria. She competed in the European Cup Championship Tournament in Milan, Italy where she received the Best Offensive Player Award.
Coach Johnson teaches Special Education at Flower Mound.
Rachel Johnson

This is Coach Holguin's second year as part of the Flower Mound coaching staff. She has been coaching volleyball and basketball for 5 years, and is excited to be coaching the Freshmen A team this year.
Coach Holguin played for San Antonio Christian in high school as an all-state setter and point guard, and state qualifying relay runner. She attended Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated with a B.A. in History in 2005. She has taught English as well as Social Studies. This year she has Pre-AP World Geography and regular World Geography in addition to coaching.
She began coaching AAU basketball as a senior in high school. She continued coaching recreational leagues for elementary aged children throughout college. As a teacher she has always coached volleyball as well as basketball, track & field, and softball. She loves the team atmosphere and learning experiences that are only generated from being a part of something as special as school sports.
